Got three of these now. Replacing homemade guys. We live very rural. For some reason, folks think this is a good place to dump their cats. Have ten ferals now. Drops to six during each winter - local food chain, mostly.
Very easy construction - stiff plastic rods with connectors. Construct a cube then insert into the soft-sided insulated body. Literally, 15 minutes to set-up.
Has two entries, with one having a hood and the other closes with magnets.
The insulation is on all six interior sides. The top closes with Velcro. Two of my houses have legs, the third five large bumps to raise it above the floor - I put this last one on the bucket bench.
There's even a nice inlet (rubber hole) to insert a cord. You have a pocket to hold a camera. I use the hole for the heating pad cord.
I bought this as an upgrade to a homemade shelter for our veteran stray cat but before he could get acquainted with it a new stray came around and took to it immediately making it his home. It’s a great shelter. He appears very comfortable and content in it. Since we placed it under our covered patio table where it is out of the direct wind and cold I removed the inside divider to give the kitty more room to stretch out and a space to lay if he gets too warm on the heated pad. He loves it. The camera works great too. Well worth the money. It’s durable, warm and looks great. It was also simple to assemble so I don’t understand why some reviews said it was difficult, mentioned plastic slivers, etc. I’m a 62 year old woman with health issues and had no problems putting it together myself.
Overall, this is a functional cat house with some nice feature features. Escape doors are a must and this one is magnetic so it closes to keep the heat in, but can easily open if the cat needs to get out. The covered entrance is also key to keeping out precipitation. There is a port where an electric cord can be run into the home to set up either a camera or a soft heating pad. There is even a little pocket inside to hold a small camera, but not sure how functional that will be. I was able to set a large flower pot on top of it without it caving in. It seems sturdy and easy to clean and is just big enough for one cat. The Velcro lid shuts tightly, but is easy to access for cleaning. The house is small and discreet, and can be hidden easily which cats will appreciate. This shelter could benefit from some type of bedding for added warmth. It is probably best I keep it in a sheltered area if you get a lot of rain and snow in your area. It was also very easy to put together.

But I'm VERY disappointed in the camera.
They advertise the camera as weatherproof BUT the USB is comes with is NOT. So basically you can't plug it in outside. Why would you make the camera weatherproof but the USB you need to power the camera indoor only for an outdoor product? So far I've spent $40 for an outdoor USB but nothing fits the camera. I don't feel they make that clear in the advertisement. So now I have a useless camera sitting around.
